Getting started

  1. Complete onboarding — Choose a Whisper model size and allow the one-time download. Larger models need more disk space and load time but can improve accuracy.
  2. Transcribe a file — Drag an audio or video file onto the app, or use the file picker.
  3. Record (optional) — Grant microphone access when prompted if you use in-app recording. File-only transcription does not require the microphone.

Frequently asked questions

Check your internet connection and firewall rules. Try a smaller model first (e.g. Tiny or Base) to confirm the pipeline works. The download may occasionally be rate-limited or slow at the server; retry after a short wait.
